Introduction
The Taiwan Institute of Economic Research (TIER), henceforth referred to as TIER, inaugurated the pioneering Taiwan Industry Economics Services (TIE) Database in October 1998. TIE database was conceived with the overarching aim of amalgamating industrial and economic research with governmental statistical data under the purview of the institute. Drawing from diverse sources spanning various sectors, TIER's initiative sought to cultivate proprietary research analyses and statistical insights.
Distinguished by its comprehensive coverage, this database stands as a singular repository encompassing the entirety of Taiwan's industrial landscape. By integrating a spectrum of industries within its ambit, TIE Database offers unparalleled depth and breadth in economic intelligence pertaining to Taiwan.
TIE database also furnishes comprehensive data on all 31 major industries in Taiwan, including industry analysis, business climate indicators, corporate financial reports, production, sales, inventories, imports, exports, and additional relevant information.
The contents encompass comprehensive industrial and economic research alongside statistical data pertinent to industrial activities. Industry analysis is meticulously conducted by experts affiliated with TIER. The insightful analysis entails collation from a myriad of sources including government entities, industry consortia, specialized journals, manufacturer consultations, and surveys, as well as empirical industrial data. Drawing from fundamental industry insights, annual reports, and diverse analytical reports, this exhaustive process elucidates the contemporary trajectories and prospective outlooks of various domestic sectors.
Incorporating industrial statistical data, the platform seamlessly integrates information sourced from government agencies, including the Finance and Taxation Information Center of the Ministry of Finance. It encompasses corporate annual reports, production, sales, and inventory statistics from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, as well as import and export data from the Ministry of Finance. This comprehensive compilation ensures a thorough presentation of industrial and economic research on an electronic database query platform.
