EU planning subsidies to lure investment by TSMC, other chipmakers

In response to supply chain vulnerabilities exposed by the global semiconductor shortage, the European Union is planning to offer subsidies to chipmakers, including Intel and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), to build new plants in Europe.
